Malbec 2023 WINEMAKING: Grapes were harvested, destemmed, and placed into stainless steel tanks. Fermentation took about 10 days on the skins with 2–3 aerated pump-overs daily, allowing for good colour and fruit flavour extraction. The wine was then pressed and allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation in older (3rd & 4th fill) French and American oak barrels, as well as in tank. Predominantly French oak (80%) was used. The wine was matured for 10 months before blending and bottling commenced. TASTING NOTE: Ruby red in the glass. Plush, upfront aromas of plum and mixed berry fruits, cherry, and a hint of subtle oak spices. Soft and juicy with a generous mouthfeel, offering more red fruit and savouriness on the palate and a velvety finish. FOOD RECOMMENDATION: Lamb, game meat, spicy rice dishes, vegan fare with BBQ flavours, biltong, and lazy afternoons. Alcohol 14.28 % Residual sugar 3,3 g/l Total acid 5,2 g/l pH 3.47
